The tongue is a very vital instrument in the body, which the Lord made for us to utilize for various functions. With the tongue, we can taste, speak, sing as well as do a bunch of other things. However, the tongue can also be a killer. Through the act of speaking, we can speak life or death into our lives.
Jesus understood “the tongue of life” and utilized it to speak life. “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63)
Understanding this element in your body called the tongue and how to rightly use it to your advantage can produce tremendous results in our relationships with people.
God tells us in His Word that the tongue has incredible power. We can use our tongue to bring blessings and life or curses and death. The saying “sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me” is simply not true. Our tongues can be the most difficult thing to control and leave us with great regret if we use our words to hurt. There is hope!
