I want to encourage you today to have the mind of Christ. The Bible, in the book of Philippians 2:5, said, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus”. The mind of Jesus is a winning mind, and, as a result, He could speak to anything and it would obey. He spoke to spirits, He spoke to the Sea, He even commanded the wind and storm. The gospel according to St. Mark 4:35-41, told a story of Jesus speaking to the storm and it obeyed him.
“On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, ‘“Let us go across to the other side.’” And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, ‘“Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?’” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, ‘“Peace! Be still!’” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, ‘“Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?’” And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, ‘“Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?’”
Yes, I know you might say, “Jesus could do that because, of course, He is the Son of God”; yes, He is the Son of God. He could have just done that because He was the Son of God, but here more so because he wanted to demonstrate and show us the mindset that we should have even in the midst of a storm. Did you see what He told His disciples in verse 40? He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” Why faith? We presume He would have said … “I know you all don’t want to die”, or “I know that the situation was scary, that is why you all were afraid, I understand”. No, He never said such. He could not entertain their fear but rather stressed on faith. And why did Jesus do this? Because Faith is the key that gives us the entrance into the world of impossibility made possible! Faith grants us access into the world of the Divine. “For without faith, it is impossible to please God, for he that must come to God must believe that he is and a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” The Word of God encourages us to think like God (big). Never limit yourself and don’t let anyone else limit you. The spirit of God is the spirit of love, self-empowerment and sound mind, and they are attainable by faith.
Most people keep thinking the same kind of thoughts, and visualizing the same mental images in an unconscious automatic manner. This means they keep viewing the same movie in their minds, and consequently, go on creating and living the same kind of life. However, if they could only apply faith, their horizon will be elevated and they will see far beyond what they could imagine.
Can you apply faith today and start changing the thoughts and images in your mind? Start looking at those challenges through the eyes of faith. Just as Jesus spoke, he urges us to speak. Speak positive things into your life, marriage, business, children etc.
Words can create events and circumstances by changing habitual thoughts and speech. Through positive thought and action, life’s events and circumstances can change too.
Your Thinking And Speaking Pattern
Most people do not know or do not believe that it is possible to change their way of thinking and speaking. The reality of this possibility has never occurred to them. But, by thinking positively you speak positively and you act positively; this is all achievable through faith.
Perhaps you are among the many who have the knowledge and make the effort. If you can persist in your efforts to become more conscious of your thinking and speaking process, and attempt to control and filter the contents of your mind, you will realize in a practical and direct way that your thoughts and words are creative and possess power.
Remember Principle # 3 of the ‘Principle of Love and Self-Empowerment’ — THINK POSITIVELY! “Whatever we think we become. When we think rich, we become rich, and when we think down, we stay down. Knowingly or unknowingly, we are subconsciously manifesting our thoughts. Formulate your thoughts for positive and productive purposes, including better health and relationships.”
I encourage you today to apply faith and speak positively, having the mind of Christ — a mind of a winner!
